Suspicious Activity - 1.7 miles from Jefferson Co So

Beware representatives of Marino Associates going door to door handing out fliers/offering demos for carpet cleaning. 1 person approaches the door, and when you answer it they hand you a bottle of cleaner and ask you to place it on your kitchen counter while they return to their vehicle to get something they forgot. 2 or more men quickly return from the vehicle and attempt to enter your house before you return from the kitchen. If they are unsuccessful entering before you return they are very aggressive in attempting to convince you to allow entry. State police indicate that this is a known method of multiple people simultaneously gaining entry to your home to conduct a "demo". While you are engaged with the primary person the others can canvas your home for items to steal and/or actually steal items during the demo. The 4-people observed today in Tuscawilla Hills refused to leave the community in compliance with the posted no soliciting signs. State police were called and the suspicious vehicle was stopped, occupants questioned and ordered by the police to leave the area.

These people were actually trying this scam with one of our neighbors, but they had heard about it and wouldn't buy into it, so the scoundrels took off. There is a license plate number and description of the vehicle....
